![]() The Wash House ~ Old Mogo Town |
Wash HouseIt is now The Wash House where laundry would be done for a fee. There are old coppers for boiling the linen, an original hand turned timber washing machine and a mangle to squeeze the excess water out of the washing. Mangles were still used during the 1950's but were then rapidly replaced by electric spindryers and washing machines. The household wash dolly, corrugated washboard and flat irons remained in use in the settlers cottages. |
