To all the staff at Old Mogo Town, thank you for a fantastic excursion. Both students and teachers had a great time. The lessons were educational and fun - the students especially loved the gold panning. Though I think we all succumbed to gold fever! Those portraying people of the 1850's were realistic especially the Head Master who had all the students a little 'scared'. The students learnt a lot from the informative way in which all activities were presented. It also made them realise how tough life was back then. The setting for Old Mogo Town is unbelievably beautiful with those magnifcent gums surrounding the peaceful valley. You could almost feel you were back in the 1850's. Personaaly I loved the lily pond and the frog chorus to send me to sleep. I highly recommend Old Mogo Town for a Stage 3 'Gold' themed excursion.

Dear M. Mogo and the Frenchman, Panning was absolutely great and it was great to see how the CRUSHER worked. I was amazed to see the tools that the miners used. At Old Mogo town I learned a lot like how the Blacksmith and the Barber worked. I also learned how the Chinese were respected and how they worked together. It ‘s very hard to say what might have been improved. It would have been better if there was a TV. Thank you for the Great time at Mogo!

Dear M. Mogo and Frenchman
I really liked panning for gold .It was really enjoyable and exiting to pan for gold but also a little bit of hard work and the technique was difficult to master. The wild life was also good. There were lot of beautiful birds with bright colours. One of the best bits was the thrilling bush dancing.
I learnt a lot, like how the gold miner lived back in the 1850s. I also learnt how to pan for gold and how to live life in the bush.

Dear m. mogo and the French Man
My experience at Mogo was great and lots of fun. The cabins were great because I like top bunks. It was also fun panning for gold and finding the little shiny bits. Going to the shop buying shiny gold bits was also fun. You had great food!

I enjoyed going to class in the 1850’s because I didn’t realise how strict it was back then. The actors that pretended they were teachers were amazing. I also thought our tour guides were very interesting and smart.
The Visit to Old Mogo Town made me realise that life back then wasn’t easy, it was hard for everyone. When I heard that female teachers were dismissed when they got married because they couldn’t work and take care of their family at the same time, I was upset because I thought they could do both at the same time.
When we started panning I tried and tried but I couldn’t find anything. I realised it wasn’t easy. I asked our tour guide Corey for some help and he found me a spec of gold! After that I had gold fever and I didn’t want stop.
When we went to the Church, Barber Shop and the Jail it was amazing to see everything in the houses.
When it came to bush dancing I had a lot of fun. I think that kids would have had heaps of fun back in the olden days.
The food was pretty good. I liked it. I especially liked the Wild life that was everywhere.
I think my visit to Old Mogo Town was amazing and hope to go back one day.

Old Mogo Town is a fanatastic trip into life on the 1850' s goldfields. The historic theme town has a genuine feel is in a breathtaking setting. The children found the he educational program motivational and interesting and the gold panning was a highlight. Accommodation facilities are excellent and the teachers' accommodation is outsatnding. Food is great too the staff, both educational and operational were fantastic to deal with. Highly recommended for Stage 3 HSIE trips! We will be back! (tomorrow:)
