Old Mogo Town Educational & Arts Facilitators and Co-ordinators

The combined insights, experience, resources and passion of the team at Old Mogo Town provide a unique opportunity for COGS Integrated Learning. Multiple skills of instaff, guest and specialist providers are used in a extraordinary and unusual setting. Art, Design and Theatre techniques are amongst the methods used to deliver on a wide range of subjects, group dynamics and challenges to perception faced by people of all ages and experience in an often too fast and uncertain world.

In particular we work with the syllabus laid down by the Board of Studies k6 HSIE Human Society and its Environment, Change and Continuity strand.


Ross Hosking - School Tour Guide:

Ross trained at Wagga Wagga Teachers' College in 1960-61, and gained his Teacher's Certificate. He then attained his Bachelor of Arts degree at Australian National University, majoring in English and History (his units in British History, Australian History and Australian Literature are particularly appropriate to his work at Old Mogo Town).

English Head Teacher at Queanbeyan High School 1975-1987
English/History Head Teacher Batemans Bay High School 1988-1998
Active member of Bay Theatre Players amateur theatre group and university of the third age Keen student of local history.
Ross works part time with Old Mogo Town, particularly with school groups.
He has also designed the module of an 1850's classroom experience.


Robert (Bob) Soper - School Tour Guide:

Bob was educated at Canterbury Boys High, then training at Bathurst Teachers' College 1960-61
He then attained his Bachelor of Arts/Economics Degree at the University of New England 1972 with sub majors in English and History and his Bachelor of Economics (Agricultural Economics) in 1977.

Bob's teaching experience ranges from 1 teacher school "families" to large High schools:
2 years Teacher-in-Charge of one teacher schools at Beryl (out of Gulgong gold mining area) Five Mile Tree and Limerick
5 years Teacher-in-Charge 2 teacher school Cabramurra
2 years Assistant Teacher staffed primary schools at Granville and Cooma
7 years Assistant Teacher at Monaro High School
25+ years faculty head teacher at Young and Batemans Bay High Schools

Bob is also an active member of Bay Theatre Players amateur theatre group and works part time with Old Mogo Town school tours.


Pamela Donnellan - Tour Guide & Instructor:

Pam is a Tour guide, town life and art and craft instructor with Old Mogo Town, and was born in England. In 1969 Pam, along with her parents, emigrated to be with her brother and his family who had emigrated 9 months earlier. She studied graphic design as a mature age entrance to Canberra Uni attaining a Diploma of Art in graphic design. Pam also completed a 6 week certificate course In Stage Makeup.

She worked for a year with the National Recording Studio as their Designer along with some freelance work. She also successfully ran watercolour painting classes for beginners in Canberra. Pam has illustrated 3 children's books, is an active member of Bay Theatre Players amateur theatre group and does workshops with the children, costumes, set painting and program design.

Her current craft work includes painting on glass and pottery.
